The Big (Not-So) Easy

After 9 months of kicking, hiccups and squirming around (and causing my belly to undulate as if a Sea Monster lurked just below the surface), Madeleine Quinn Soerens officially joined our family on August 2, 2010 at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.
We got to the hospital a little after 10:00am that Monday morning; she was born at 7:00pm.  She was a petite 6 lbs, 3 oz and 20 inches long.  The nurses took her vital signs and gave her a bath.

Maddy's grandparents were waiting in the lounge when she was born; we couldn't wait for everyone to get to meet her.

Maddy's aunts and uncles and cousins visited her in the hospital and after we got home on Wednesday, August 4.

The first couple of weeks flew by in a blur of laundry, diapers and unexplained crying.  Some pretty great days punctuated strings of sleepless nights.  We couldn't have gotten through it without the help from our family.

Maddy makes each difficult day worth it.  She's impossibly adorable: our favorite thing.

She's our cuteheart.
